Composition:

Basilax Vaccine is live vaccine prepared from a suspension of living spores of Bacillus anthracis 34F2 strain. The vaccine contains 107/ml live spores, 50 % of physiological salt water (v/v) and 0,1 % of saponin per dose.

Indications:

The vaccine is used in the spring where places the risk of anthrax, immedia­tely in locations of disease and in disease-free animals for protection.

Contraindications:

The vaccine should be not applied to high fever and pregnant animals.

Administration and Dosage:

Bovine Animals (cattle, horse, camel)                         1 ml

Sheep and goat                                                         0,5 ml

Tai, calf and young buffalo calf"                                 0,5 ml

Lamb and kid (2-6 month)                                        0,25 ml

The vaccine is applied to next place of neck, media area or back of scapular for bovine animals, inner site of hind lack for sheep, under tail for goat by subcutaneous way. The vaccine can be applied to under tail for curly sheep. The injection place should be as far as possible from joints.

Precautions:

The vaccine should be well mixed before taken to injector. The applicator should observed rules of asepsis and antisepsis. The vaccine should be applied subcutaneous way.

Antibiotic application which before and after vaccination is affected the immune system.

Side Effects:

In within 24-48 hours which after vaccinated, it should be occurred low fever, oedema and temporary lameness in injection place.

Legal Washout Period

Six weeks after vaccination.

Storage Conditions:

The vaccine is stored in dark and at 2 °C to 8 °C.

Presentation:

The vaccine is packed in honey colored glass bottles of 15 and 50 ml volume.

Destruction Conditions:

The vaccine is autoclaved without open the contents at 121 °C for 60 minutes or in incinerator.
